1961: Ernest Hemingway. American novelist. Committed suicide. 1973: Betty Grable. American film actress and pin-up, whose movies involved 'How To Marry A Millionaire' and 'The Shocking Pass up Pilgrim'.


1977: Vladimir Nabokov. Russian novelist, whose effort incorporated Lolita.


1997: James Stewart. American film actor, who starred in Frank Capra's 'It's A Remarkable Life' and 'The Gentleman Who Shot Liberty Valance'.
